About Rochelle Melander, the Write Now! Coach

Author, book coach, and teacher Rochelle Melander has helped thousands of people design a writing life, create great books, and connect with their readers. She is the author of twelve books, including the just-released social justice book for kids, Mightier Than the Sword: Rebels, Reformers, and Revolutionaries Who Changed the World through Writing. Her previous book include the National Novel Writing Month guide—Write-A-Thon: Write Your Book in 26 Days (and Live to Tell About It) and Level Up: Quests to Master Mindset, Overcome Procrastination and Increase Productivity. As a certified professional coach (PCC), Rochelle teaches entrepreneurs and professionals how to overcome writer’s block, write more, turn their ideas into books, navigate the publishing world, and use speaking and social media to reach their readers. She is also the founder of Dream Keepers, a writing workshop for children and teens in Milwaukee and leads workshops for teachers who work with reluctant writers. Professional and Academic Achievements

Writing: Rochelle Melander is the author of twelve books, including three writing books. The most recent book is Mightier Than the Sword: Rebels, Reformers, and Revolutionaries Who Changed the World through Writing. She’s also the author of the National Novel Writing Month guide Write-A-Thon: Write Your Book in 26 Days (and Live to Tell About It) (Writer’s Digest) and the productivity guide, Level Up: Quests to Master Mindset, Overcome Procrastination and Increase Productivity. In addition to writing books, she’s written blog posts, articles for periodicals and trade publications, resources, and training and educational programs.

Coaching: Rochelle Melander is a PCC with the ICF, graduate of CoachU and The Center for Family Process, and a member of the International Coach Federation. She recently completed coursework for her ADHD certification. She’s been coaching professionally since 2000. In 2009, Rochelle and a writing partner developed and wrote a 12-month wellness-coaching program for spiritual leaders. In addition, they served as the lead coaches for the initial 4 years of the program.

Editing: Since 2000, Rochelle has been the managing editor of The Word in Season, a quarterly periodical (Augsburg Publishing House). In addition, she’s edited books, magazines, book proposals, short stories, and articles for private clients and companies including The Alban Institute, Augsburg Fortress Publishers, and TOPS Inc.

Teaching and Service: Rochelle is the founder of Dream Keepers, a writing workshop to help children and teens in Milwaukee write about their lives. She’s trained by the National Writing Project. She’s taught at colleges, public schools, and conferences. She currently teaches at the Milwaukee Art Museum, in the Milwaukee Public Schools, and the Milwaukee Public Library. Education and Work: Rochelle Melander graduated Magna Cum Laude from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, with majors in Theater Arts and Religion. She earned two theological Masters degrees from The Lutheran Seminary at Philadelphia. She has eighteen years of experience as a spiritual leader and visioning consultant.
