Write Your Book in 26 Days
“Writing a book is a long, exhausting struggle, like a long bout of some painful illness.” —George Orwell
Have you ever thought about writing books as a long, difficult struggle? I certainly have—and I LOVE writing! But over the years, I’ve discovered the joy of writing a book marathon style. When the book-writing process is squeezed into a short period of time, the worries and distractions drop away. We are left with only the essential.
I experienced that this past month, as I worked day and evening to finish my most recent book project. I had to give up a few things I love, like evening beading sessions and Saturday yoga classes. But I also found that intensely focusing on researching and writing the book meant that I spent less time worrying. Throughout the process, I was thrilled to know that the book I was writing would help YOU write your own books.
I’m delighted to announce that my book on writing books fast, Write-A-Thon: Write Your Book in 26 Days (and Live to Tell About It), will be released by Writer’s Digest Books in October 2011. I hope that this book will help all of you write your own books!
In the next months, I’ll be sharing with you some of the lessons I learned from this latest write-a-thon. And keep your eyes on the blog for more information about the new book and how it will help you.
Happy Day! Rochelle
